You pay sewerage charges for the use of the municipalitys' sewer system.

Who receive this tax assessment?

You will receive a sewerage tax assessment if you are a user and/or the owner of a home or company(property).

How does the municipality use the proceeds of this charge?

The municipality uses the proceeds of the sewerage charge to:

  • Collect and transport rainwater and wastewater.
  • Construct, maintain and replace parts of the sewer system.

Who receives the tax assessment sewerage charge owners' share?

GBLT sends the tax assessment to owners of properties (plots) that are connected to the municipal sewerage system directly or indirectly.

Who receives the tax assessment sewerage charge users' share?

GBLT sends the tax assessment to users of properties (plots) that drain more than 500 m3 of wastewater to the municipal sewer system a year. 

Can you request remission?

You can request remission for the owners' share of the sewerage charge. You can call GBLT 088 - 064 55 55 for a remission request form. Or request remission digitally in Mijn Loket.

An example of the sewerage charge calculation

The user fee is per year per 100m³ of wastewater drained at each quantity:

  • From 500 m³ to 1,000 m³ per year € 47.08 (2021).
  • From 1,001 m³ to 10.000 m³ per year € 36.22 (2021).
  • From 10,001 m³ up to 50,000 m³ per year € 26.99 (2021).
  • From 50,001 m³ up to 100,000 m³ per year € 20.43 (2021).
  • Above 100,000 m³ per year € 14.26 (2021).

We call the amount for each quantity a tier. For each tier you calculate the number of units and multiply this by the rate that corresponds with this tier. You combine the amounts of all these tiers togetther to obtain the total amount for the assessment.
