BIZ stands for Business Investment Zone. This is a business park or shopping centre in which entrepreneurs work together. To keep the area safe and attractive for visitors, for example. Or to further develop it. The entrepreneurs jointly set up an association or foundation which organises activities in the area for this purpose. The entrepreneurs contribute to the costs of these activities. They do so by contributing to the BIZ. The municipality pays the contribution back to the association or foundation as a subsidy.
Do you own or use business premises in the area?
Then you will receive a tax assessment for the BIZ from GBLT. Is the property vacant? Then we will send the tax assessment to the person who owned the property on January 1st.
The rate of the BIZ depends on the value of the business premises according to the Property Valuation Act (WOZ). The rates apply for a period of 5 years. That period runs from 2022 through 2026.
For more informatie please visit the rates page.
