Paying in instalments

Are you unable or unwilling to pay the tax assessment in one single payment? Then choose to pay in instalments. With your consent, GBLT will withdraw the amount from your bank account in instalments. By default, we debit in ten equal instalments around the 26th of the month. You can also opt for fewer instalments and/or a different debit date.

This is called direct debit in instalments.

Give consent for direct debit

This consent applies to all tax assessments we send will you. In this year and in subsequent years. You do not have to give consent each year. This way, you always pay in time without further action needed. The quikest way to organise a direct debit is through 'Mijn Loket'. Do you give consent for direct debit well after the payment date on the assessment? Then GBLT will only debit the following years in instalments. You can give your consent in two ways:

  • Consent with your Dutch Digital Identification (DigiD) through Mijn Loket

Log on to 'Mijn Loket' on our website. Through eMandate you then give consent in your own banking environment. You can change your choice and account number here at any time.

Please note: does your bank not have an eMandate service? Then you can use the consent form (Dutch only).  Please be advised that you need to add the BIC code of a bank account on the consent for  when giving consent for direct debit of a foreign bank account.

Log in to Mijn Loket

  • Give consent on paper

Do you not have a Dutch Digital Identification (DigiD)? Then you can use this consent form (Dutch only) to give consent. Fill out the form completely before printing. Do not forget to sign the form. after printing Send the form to GBLT, postbus 1098, 8001 BB Zwolle.

It takes at least two weeks for the direct debit to be organised if you give consent on paper. The payments will begin after we have processed your consent.

Your consent is tied to yourself

After your consent, we are only allowed to debit for tax assessments in your name. Is there a tax assessment at your address in another name, like your partner's? Then that person must consent to direct debit seperately.

You can withdraw your consent at any time

If you no longer want to pay in instalments via direct debit, then you can withdraw your consent. This can be done in 3 ways:

  • In Mijn Loket.
  • Instruct your bank to withdraw your consent.
  • Send GBLT a letter informing it that you are withdrawing your consent. Send this letter to GBLT, PO Box 1098, 8001 BB Zwolle.

Please note: If you withdraw your consent you must pay the outstanding amount to GBLT in one go. Pay with iDEAL through Mijn Loket. This will ensure that your payment reaches us in the correct way. Are you not using 'Mijn Loket'? Then always quote your tax assessment number with your payment. This number is stated on the tax assessment. Without a tax assessment number, we cannot see which tax assessment you are paying for!

If the debit fails

Is GBLT unable to debit your account? Then GBLT will be informed by your bank. We will then send you a letter. We will spread the amount owed across the remaining instalments. As a resultt he monthly amount will increase. Are you still unable to pay after that? Then the direct debit will be cancelled. Please reach out to us if this happens.

If you want to cancel a debit

Do you disagree with a debit by GBLT? Then you can arrange a refund through your bank. This is called reversal. You have 56 days to do this.

Please note: 2 reversals in a row automatically ends the direct debit for that tax assessment. You then must pay the outstanding amount in one go. We therefore recommend that you always contact GBLT first.

Direct debit is not possible in these situations
