The municipality of Zwolle is changing the taxes you have to pay on the disposal, collection and processing of waste. On this page we explain the changes. And how this affects a request for remission.
Starting 2023 you will pay two rates for domestic waste in the municipality of Zwolle
The domestic waste tax in the municipality of Zwolle will then consist of two parts:
- A fixed amount.
- An amount for the number of times you dispose of residual waste. We call this Diftar. You will receive remission for this up to a maximum amount.
1. You pay the fixed amount of waste disposal fee every year
The municipality of Zwolle determines this amount every year. The fixed amount depends on your situation:
- Do you live alone? Then you pay for a single-person household. In 2023 this is € 233.77.
- Do you share a housing unit? Then you will pay for a multi-person household. In 2023 this is € 250.57. It does not matter with how many people you share a housing unit.
You can request remission for the entire fixed amount.
2. Afterwards, you pay for the number of times you dispose of residual waste
The municipality of Zwolle annualy determines the rate for disposing of residual waste. This rate depends on the amount of residual waste you can dispose of at a time:
- Do you dispose of residual waste in an underground container? Then the rate is € 1.70 or € 2.30. You pay € 1.70 if you can dispose of 60 liters of residual waste at a time.You pay € 2.30 if you can dispose of 80 litres of residual waste at a time.
- Do you use a in a grey container at your house, houseboat or trailer? Then you pay € 10.20 each time this container is emptied. This container can hold up to 240 liters of residual waste.
In early 2024 you will receive a bill for the number of residual waste disposals in 2023. You can ask request remission for this bill up to a certain amount.
There is a maximum amount of remission possible on residual waste
Remission is possible for the full fixed amount. It depends on your situation up to what amount you do not have to pay the rate on residual waste:
- Do you live alone? Then you do not have to pay up to € 23.80.
- Do you share a housing unit? Then you do not have to pay up to € 71.40.
